Snehan (external/internal)

means massage of whole body or some part of body with oil.

Swedan (sarvang, Nadi swed, baluka)

It is a sweat inducing procedure by application of heat and warmth in the form of steam or by bringing the body or parts of body in contact with heated pharmaceuticals like powders, leaves,sand, etc. It is a part of Purvakarma, the preparatory procedures in panchkarma. It can be used as a standalone treatment.

Vaman (therapeutic medicine induced emesis)

It is a procedure in which mostly Kapha doshas (waste products or toxins) are eliminated through upper channels.Facilitates the expulsion of accumulated toxins,restoring Dosha equilibrium and vitality.

Virechan (therapeutic medicine induced diarrhoea)

The process of cleansing of the intestines which are pitta dominant through the use of laxative medicines. It helps to remove the toxic and metabolic waste from liver, gall bladder and intestinal tract.
Nirooh basti ( Decoction enema)- Introduction of herbal decoctions and medicated oils into the colon through the rectum. It helps to eliminate the toxins and Vata dosha accumulated in the colon.

Anuvasan basti (medicated oil enema)

It is a method of administrating the medicine in the form of sneha in the body through anal region. Basti in which Sneha is used for administration is known as Anuvasana Basti.
Matra basti (medicated oil enema)- entails the introduction of a small amount of herbal oil into the rectum to aid healing. Regular sessions of Matra Basti can lead to improved overall health and a sense of holistic wellness.
Uttar basti (medicated oil in urinary route)-A process for balancing the body’s doshas, particularly Vata dosha, by the application of herbal oils and medicinal ghee.
Kati basti - Retaining warm medicated oil over the lower back area. Mainly done to alleviate various lower back issues, including chronic pain,stiffness, muscle spasms, and sciatica.

Griva basti

It is a soothing neck therapy, in which a generous quantity of herbal oils are retained on the neck to relieve occasional pain, inflammation and stiffness in cervical spondylitis

Janu basti

During this treatment, practitioners form a reservoir around the knee joint using a dough made from black gram flour. They then pour warm – medicated oil into this reservoir, nourishing the knee joint and addressing various knee issues.

Hruday basti

It is a procedure in which the area around the heart or the cardiac region is continuously bathed with warm medicated oil and decoctions.

Shiro basti

It is a specialized Ayurvedic treatment focusing on the head, where warm medicated oil is retained on the scalp for a specific duration.

Shiro virechan

Also known as Nasya, involving the administration of medicated oils or powder or decoction through the nasal passages.
Nasya (nasal installation of medicated oil or decoction)- A treatment involving the administration of medicated oils, powders, or other formulations through the nostrils.

Raktamokshan

A therapeutic para surgical practice in Ayurveda, focuses on eliminating vitiated blood from the body.

Jalauka (leach therapy)

It is a medical treatment that utilizes the saliva of medicinal leeches to treat skin diseases and mostly pittaj disorders.

Kshar karma

It is an Ayurvedic procedure involving the application of a caustic alkaline substance derived from medicinal plants to treat various conditions, particularly those affecting the anorectal region like hemorrhoids, fistulas, and anal fissures.
Agnikarma (Acute pain management)- Procedure involves thermal micro- cauterization using a specialized Agnikarma Unit or a metallic instrument called Agnikarma Shalaka.

Viddha karna

It is a para- surgical procedure involving puncturing or piericing specific points on the body with a needle to relieve pain and address certain ailments.

Netra Tarpan

It involves a specialized treatment to soothe tired eyes,relieve strain, and promote overall eye health. It is procedure in which comfortably warm medicated ghee is kept over the eyes for a certain period of time.

Karna Pooran

It is an Ayurvedic therapy involving the application of warm,medicated oils into the ear canal.
